In any case, what all these causes have in common is that they involve repressing certain aspects of who we truly are so that other people will think more positively about us. Mine really helped me get back in touch with my body, as I’d been disconnected for many years. I tended to shut off from my emotions, or repress them, rather than cope with them in a healthy way.
